Safety

Health and Safety is one of the top priorities for Cardiff Lift Company. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and customers. Health and Safety is the direct responsibility of all managers, supervisors, employees and contractors. We believe avoiding accidents can be controlled through good management, in combination with active employee involvement. Employees are encouraged to give feedback and bring forward suggestions regarding Health and Safety at regular Tool Box talks.

Under Section 8 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, we recognise our legal duty to provide, as far as is reasonably practicable, a safe working environment, safe equipment and safe methods of work. We strive to be the best in our field, this is evident in our Health and Safety records, which are constantly updated, monitored and reviewed.

Equipment

As required by the Provision and use of Work Equipment (PUWER 1998), we ensure all work equipment is tested and certified periodically and maintained in good condition. Reports of thorough tests and examinations are documented and controlled.

Risk Assessments

Method Statements and Risk Assessments are an integral part of our Health and Safety Management System. We endeavour to eliminate any reasonably foreseen hazards which may result in accidents, personal injury/illness or property damage.

Training

Under Section 10 of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, Instruction Training and Supervision to Employees. Our employees are provided with Personal Protection Equipment, up to date training, information, instruction and supervision to secure their health and safety at work and others who may be affected by their actions. We ensure management activities comply with company safety requirements as they relate to installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Lift Directive Accreditation

Cardiff Lift Company is focused on quality and continual improvement with our Quality Management System. Our system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and European Lifts Directive. The system is subject to scheduled audits, internal and external, in order to ensure a process of constant evaluation and improvement.
